After extracting the juice from the berries the next step is to boil them, then they will need to be soaked. And there is a number of ways how you can achieve this.

You can calculate roughly, the number of gallons of wine you will be able to produce with the berries or fruit that you have harvested. A rough calculation that people usually use, for example, is to make five gallons of wine you will have to use fifty pounds of ripened grapes. When making your own wine, wine making tools could be very useful and sometimes required. As stated above, crushing the berries with your feet has been a long tradition when making wine at home. By putting in this additional sugar it will help the taste and assist in the fermentation process. After you are satisfied with that, then it’s time to pour your wine into a wine barrel. Make sure while your pouring you do not let any air into the barrel for there might be a possibility that your wine may rot. About 2-3 weeks later your first batch of home made wine should be ready. Just remember the longer you let your wine age the better it should be.
