Bringing in the southwest decor to your home will bring in the look and feel of the old west. The colors are bold that are used with this dcor and you have several different Native American patterns that go along with this style too. Looking to do this design in your home will bring in some leather and silver to the look too.

Colors are again bold and they will add to the feel and look of your southwest style. Use of deep turquoise or even burgundy is a nice way to bring in this decor. Get some Native American prints that can be on rugs, pillows, or even accents up on the walls. Don’t make the look too crowded though; make it just right adding enough of the look to make the room look warm and inviting.

Furniture that is used with the southwest dcor is to be masculine in look and can either be created from leather, or you can use covers on it that are tan. For tables and chairs in the room, try and get the wood at a darker color. Distressed wood is better to use this will give the room a used and old look that will fit in perfectly with the southwest dcor. The style you want to see is the old log cabin feel.

Floors in the southwest decor are best kept as hardwood. A floor that looks like it’s been down for years would be fantastic to add to this look. A nice comfortable place for a cowboy to relax after a hard day of work!

If you use area rugs with this style which you should, make them bold and colorful. Have either a rug that is turquoise or has a nice Native American print on it. If you can find a place where you can get a nice reproduction of an actual Native American rug this will give your room the full affect. These can be found in some specialty stores and will add to the feeling of the room even more. Pick out a rug that will tie all the looks together in your room and make it warm and inviting.

Accessories to the southwest style are found very easily in different places across the country. You can look up places online, or visit not only flea markets, but estate sales, and garages sales. You never know when you will be able to find some great looking southwest decor. Adding in some silver that will break up the colors you have used on your accents is another great idea. If you can find some actual Native American relics that would even add more to the room.

The southwest design is one that uses bright colors to add warmth into the room. You can either paint all the walls with a bold color or just one wall and make that the focal point of the room. This type of room is best suited for a room that will be seen by the guests who visit your home. It will bring in a nice feeling that will make them relaxed and also give you many topics to talk about.
