There are few things more important in any craft than having properly sharp tools, in this video Ben, custom guitar builder with www.CrimsonGuitars.com walks you through the basic processes involved in sharpening edged tools such as chisels and plane blades using Japanese water stones, though the process is the same for oil stones and diamond stones as well. The process is in its self rather simple to grasp but the practice of achieving a razors edge on your tools takes a lot of time to get right, in the end though it becomes second nature to the dedicated craftsman.
