This is probably the goriest stuff I saw on youtube, and a good thing it is.
Made myself watch all of them and I am sure this will imprint itself firmly in my mind so that next time I pick up a power tool and remember what it can do.

Way to show the blade sticking through the stock way too far. Good way to increase the hazardousness of a tool: Increase the amount of unguarded blade, and how long the blade will still be in the stock accelerating the saw backwards as it kicks. Adjust your depth properly.

Professional saws have diamond arbors, so no, the blade won’t slip in that case.

My dad taught me to always stand off to the side of the cutline, so a kickback won’t get me.

say what you want I was cutting the ends off some stakes for a cement pour i was doing like i had a million times and i looked away to quick on the last one and put the saw through my finger when it kicked. Luckily i was lucky and only needed three stitches.

15 amp circular saw or worm drive doesn’t have enough power to come back at u if you’re holding it with both hands…the blade will start to slip first

WOW that really makes me think twice. I was using a circular saw in the backyard flying through some OLD OLD OLD plywood to get rid of it. I had a table saw kick back a few times, but I didn’t realize the danger of this. I’ll think twice before moving so fast.

…No, they were jus filming a dude from a lot of different angles, and he fucked up and they caught it on tape.

he should have not been using it anyways. look at how nervous his face was making the cut.

    • rocker2003
    • March 25, 2013

Why is he still holding the blade guard open when it kicks? Maybe you hold it open at the start of the cut, but he’s 2/3 of the way through.
