Question by : How long does fast-drying polyurethane take to dry?
My dad is currently in the processing of applying polyurethane to my bookshelf and I was wondering how long it would take to completely dry, so I can start putting my books and such on it.

Put the shelves up right to dry. Vertical surfaces dry quicker, and less dust settles.

Now that Norm has retired and New Yankee Workshop is off the air, we need a new woodworking show for younger viewers and those just starting out today. At $25 each, buying a complete set of plans and videos with all the tips & guidence from the old television show would cost thousands.

it will dry ‘dust free’ meaning that dust that settles on it won’t stick in the finish, in an hour or two. but to be able to use it I would wait at least two days for the poly to harden, to soon and it will be soft and scuff easily
I have that. It says wait 24 hours after final coat before normal use.
24 to 48 hrs
IT ‘ll take one day .then ur bookshelf will be more lovable.
