A Dud for Kreg,
Customer Video Review Length:: 1:00 Mins
I have been using the Kreg pocket hole jig Kreg K4MS Jig Master System and Kreg KMS7102 Table Saw Precision Miter Gauge System for awhile and have been very pleased with both. For that reason I was open to their other products. I ordered the Kreg KMA2900 Multi-Mark tool anticipating another fine product. I was disappointed. Whereas the product works as advertised for off-set marking, as a “square” it falls short of a dependable marking tool. The area that locks the moveable metal piece at a 90-degree angle is just too loose! If you need a dependable 90-degree mark, this tool is NOT it!

Promising, but going back!,
After reading an online review, I was excited about getting this. I have a Stanley Oddjob which I carry in shop apron and thought this might be an improvement. It is promising, with one major flaw. You must completely remove the brass knob to change positions. It is a royal pain. The point is convenience and convenience is the ability to use the functions interchangeably, flowing from on task to another. Doing that requires you to remove and reconfigure the tool between tasks. It is going back. I will just never use it. My combination square, although not a shop apron item, can easily perform a 90, 45 and depth gauge/scribe without reconfiguration. Kreg, go back to the drawing board.

Keep finding new ways to use it,
I also bought mine at Lowes. I bought it to put up some trim in my house which nobody has commented on using it as a trim gage, worked great for the 3/16 reveal. I just marked my corners which allowed for easy measuring, then used the offset on the edge to position the trim as I nailed it. I also used the 45° to mark the trim to cut of the miter saw. After finishing the job I keep finding ways to transfer measurements and leveling wall hangings for my wife. It would be nice if the knob didn’t have to come out all of the way, but all in all great quality, great tool.
