Question by AddyC: You are given a measuring cylinder marked in mL to measure volume and a balance that can measure the mass?
You are given a measuring cylinder marked in mL to measure volume and a balance that can measure the mass in g. You need to take 6 samples of water and measure their mass values and volume values. Make a plan on how you will do this. Write down your plan below.

I don’t really see the problem unless you have only those two containers. Then you have a problem. If you have paper cups, then you could put x number of mL in each cup after you weigh the cup. Measure the weight of the cup and water sample. Record the difference between total mass (second weighing) and the cup. You have the volume and mass of each cup’s contents.
Be sure and dry the cylinder before the next weighing.
With only two containers, I’m not sure how you’d do it.
