LIFE SAVER for pulling up old/stubborn commercial vinyl tile!, July 6, 2014

I pulled up 200 square feet of commercial vinyl tile with one of these blades. I don’t know what I would have done without it, the other recommendation that was given was hand/floor scrapers, or renting a very expensive machine. This blade (and cordless tool), got tile up no problem, I knocked out 200 s.f. in about three hours. I didn’t try, or expect, to get up old glue with a hand tool, just the tile.

As another reviewer spoke to, this blade, when used on concrete to pull up old flooring, will sharpen on the bottom of the blade over time (took about 200 square foot of scraping for me). When this happens, you’ll have to tip the tool farther forward to get under the leading edge of a tile, no big deal… eventually the blade will have to be re-edged with a file, or just tossed and replaced.

To sum up, this blade (and the cordless dewalt tool) were indispensable for pulling up floors. Just to remember to wear gloves if you have girly hands like me, I worked up a nice blister on my trigger finger!

Works well, for a short time, then you need a grinder to be able to continue using it on concrete., May 19, 2014

I used this blade to scrape glue off of a concrete subfloor. It works well for a while, but the concrete wears the blade quickly. the blade gets very sharp on the bottom, but it requires a steeper and steeper angle at which you hold the blade to continue working. you then must use a grinder to grind down the top edge of the blade. If this blade could be flipped over and used on both sides, it would fix this issue, unfortunately, that will not work with its current design.
