Discounted: Ryobi P234g 18 Volt Impact Driver Lithium-ion (Tool Only, Battery and Charger Not Included0

Ryobi P234g 18 Volt Impact Driver Lithium-ion (Tool Only, Battery and Charger Not Included0

Amazing Power and Speed will make you more productive. This compact and light tool will drive a 4" drywall screw (with 12" #2 bit) right thru a telephone pole. If you do any wood or metal work, you need this. The simple reason is it drills better than a drill!. The high RPM is double the average drill, for most drilling the impact mode never kicks in, but with sharp paddle bits you can drill large holes fast when it does. Even in very hard wood, the impacts let you "chisel thru". The P234 is one of the greatest tools ever made.
  • 1500 in/lbs at 3,200 BPM (impacts per min.). 2,600 RPM. 2.8lbs actual weight.
  • Uses all Ryobi 18v li-ion or Ni-cad batterys
  • Battery and charger not included
  • No retail box

I added this to my tool kit mainly to drive screws, and boy, it is WAY better than my cordless Ryobi drill for doing that!

Both the drill and the impact driver (impact wrench) use the same battery pack, and the impact driver is like the Energizer Bunny when it comes to driving screws. It will easily outlast the drill’s endurance, many times over.

It’s lightweight, comfortable, easy to operate, and comes with a couple of basic attachments.

LED lights almost worthless, July 10, 2013

This review is from: Ryobi P234g 18 Volt Impact Driver Lithium-ion (Tool Only, Battery and Charger Not Included0 (Misc.)
Don’t get me wrong, this is a good tool. However, the engineer that decided how the LED lights should work needs to try to operate it in a low light situation. The lights only come on once the chuck starts to turn so you have two choices – either try to insert the bit in the fastener while it is turning, or try to do it in the dark. Either way it’s a hassel and annoying. I guess it would be an ok flashlight in a pinch. BTW this is how the lights work on all Ryobi tools. I e-mailed the factory about this and they simply said “sorry that’s the way it works.” Note that virtually all other competitive brands of drivers and drills have their lights come on before the chuck starts to turn, and on some it even stays on for about five seconds after the chuck stops.
