I purchased this tool to replace my Pedipaws trimmer that has about as torque as a windup toy. It took about an hour to charge the lithium Ion battery and it was ready to go. The accessory pack is well stocked for hobby grinding and will end up with the rest of my dremel stuff. I removed the wrench and shaft for the sanding drum. I removed the sanding wheel from the Pedipaws and installed it on the rotary tool shaft and now I have an industrial strength nail grinder with lithium Ion power! I went right to work on my two standard poodles and then the Jack Russell. I spent about 10-15 minutes on each poodle and less than 10 minutes on the JRT to complete the job. I ran the tool on its slowest setting mainly because if you run it any faster, the nail might build up some heat and pooch wont like that. I hold each nail above the sanding drum to act as a heat sink just in case. Since this tool is lithium ion and will hold a charge unlike Ni-Cads it will be very easy to touch up whenever you want. All in all I would recommend this tool. For the money, you won’t be disappointed. The tool is well built, charges fast, has plenty of torque, 7.2V, variable speed, ergonomic designed pistol grip which is very comfortable for grinding nails, led work light (adequate but would be nice if it was brighter) and comes with charging console. Final thoughts are the fact that you can use the sanding wheels from the Pedipaws instead of using the smaller rotary tool sanding drums. I think the larger wheels will give you more control and they will do the work much faster and safer. If you are looking for a lithium ion alternative to 3x the money for Dremel look no further. This is the tool.

This little tool has a lot going for it… mainly, a price that is well below the Dremel Stylus (the only tool which is a direct competitor, to my knowledge). It comes with a full complement of tools and 4 sizes of collets. It is fairly quiet and seems to have enough power for hobby use. However, the charging station requires 2 hands to insert your tool into. The tool also requires 2 hands to turn it on and off – the same switch controls the speed. In a remanufacture of this unit, I would like to see them incorporate a trigger-type on/off switch, and a change in head size to make the Dremel Chuck compatible. That’s all it would need to make it a 5-star rotary!
