I bought the PowerCone to restore my polished aluminum wheels. The rims were oxidized more than the PowerCone could handle. It is very flexible and will work well on keeping polished aluminum looking good but won’t do much for oxidation. My polished rims needed more pressure to bring them back and the foam construction of the cone wasn’t up to the task. I used a multiple pc. cotton buffing kit with various shapes and diameters to get the job done but now that the shine is back I plan to use the PowerCone to keep them looking good.Mothers PowerCone Polishing Tool

I feel like everyone else on here who couldn’t get the results they wanted were either doing it wrong or didn’t try multiple sweeps with the Powercone. I bought this for my 2001 Mustang with chrome FR500 wheels (deep dish in the back)- these are very difficult to detail as there are numerous crevices and deep slots of large pieces of metal. I wasn’t disappointed. My wheels had already been corroded, so I was accepting of that. The Powercone took what used to be a four-hour job and cut it down to just under an hour. In a nutshell:

Pros: Cut labor time by 75%, quick, easy to use, shape makes it easy to reach difficult spots

Cons: Seems to lose a little effectiveness after a few hours of use, needs some sort of care instructions for the tool, still had a lot of work to do to get wheels looking nice

All in all, it was well worth the $15 I spent at Auto Zone. Will get another when this one goes bad.
