On the other hand, for a medium sized shop it might be perfect.– It easily handles multiple machines, like a sander, table saw, and radial arm, at the same time.– It is the only collector I’ve seen that goes a good job with a large planer, especially in a 1 machine only mode.– Wireless remote control switch is extremely handy.– The internal “crank” style handle for cleaning the dust filters is very effective
Some things to consider when you install:– Make note of the noise and size mentioned above– I upgraded my collection system from 4″ to multiple 6″ pipes; this machine can easily handle the volume and you don’t want to restrict it.– I placed my collector in a back room, but mounted the control unit in the main room (as suggested by Shop Fox) so I could make use of line-of-sight wireless remote control.– The main sawdust collection barrel accommodates 40-gallon leaf bags. So you don’t have to buy special bags from SF.– 40 gallons of sawdust is quite heavy and difficult to lift our of the barrel (but not impossible).– The dust barrel itself is on wheels, so can easily be rolled out from under the machine.– This seems to be a very well-built machine.
