This is my third shop air cleaner. I’ve had a Jet and a Delta before this Powermatic. I almost didn’t buy just one because of the cost, doubtful there was any real difference between air cleaners. Both prior units rattled on all speeds; the Jet almost came apart at high speed.
Well I’ve had this one up and running for about a month, and I’m very happy with the performance and noise level. My oscillating fan makes more noise than the AC on low speed. Even as it moves to medium and high, there is no rattle or loose noises. Very satisfied.
REVISED REVIEW: I had to reduce the stars down to three. After only one week that the remote control feature stopped working…sometimes. I’ve had to unplug the unit to reset it twice now. Sometimes the remote works and sometimes it does not. Very frustrating situation for a new machine.

I have to say that I am surprised about the negative comments about packaging. This is my 3rd Powermatic purchase from Amazon and I have been very impressed with the packaging as well as the condition of the machines I have had delivered. The PM1200 in particular was very securely packaged in Styrofoam in a plywood lined, heavy duty cardboard box. I was a little shocked to see the plywood lining. The machine looks great. I turned it on to test it out and it is functioning perfectly. I look forward to putting it to the test when I am creating some fine dust particles in my shop.
I’m not sure why I didn’t realize this, but this machine is big. The box weighed in around 75 lbs and the machine was a bit of a challenge getting it into my basement shop, but I did manage to do it by myself without damaging the machine or my house.
