It’s always been annoying to me that these manufacturers seem to make it impossible to buy just the drill and a battery. Everything is a package deal so they can relieve you of more of your cash. While researching, I kept saying “I don’t need a darn impact driver!” When I spied this set in the low $200’s range, I decided to give in and take the package deal. These Rigid guns look almost like they were made by Milwaukee. They seem to be very rugged and after a couple month’s use, I can say they are excellent on the job. I prefer the LED to be placed up by the drive area, but the lower mount actually throws light just where you need it. Plus I have to admit, the impact driver has already been used quite a few times working on the bikes and cars. The radio seemed like a throwaway part of the package, but with the cell phone strap and AUX cable built in, it’s also been put to use quite a bit.

Here’s what I would change in this set: Make the radio double as a charge station. The other would be to substitute a work light for the radio.

Excellent buy and no regrets. I’m hoping the batteries last more than a year.

I am glad I waited, researched things, and asked some friends what their favorite brands are. Ridgid tools are freakin’ awesome! I bought this set mainly for the drill, but I’ve actually used the impact wrench a lot more than I had anticipated. They are well-built, sturdy, not too heavy, and they’re just great. I will definitely stick with Ridgid from now on. Oh, did I mention the lifetime replacement? You just have to register and you are covered for life.
